The Third Station - An Upper Room

Reader 1:     Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

All:               It is right to give God thanks and praise.

Grieving, his followers huddled in an upper room.

He came among them 

wind and fear had chilled the room.

His presence warmed, revived them.

They saw the future was open and new.

Banish our fears, and help us to trust you at all times, Lord.

Through your presence, may we see newness of life.

O Christ, you redeem all that is broken through your risen life.

We thank you for offering us newness of life.

Rejoice, my friends, Christ is risen.

        All: Rejoice, dear friends, the Lord is risen indeed. Alleluia.

Ubi caritas et amor, ubi caritas Deus ibi est.
Translation: Where true charity and love abide, God is there.
